Navigate Change. Lead with Purpose. Live in Clarity.

Transformational and Co-Active coaching for people ready to unlock their potential and inspire significant, lasting growth.

About Me, Dr. Pete!

"I help mission-driven people and teams grow in purpose, clarity, and impact."

My background in Organic Chemistry (PhD), education policy, and organizational leadership provides a unique understanding of complex systems that often resist change. From leading local and global efforts through the National Society of Black Engineers, years serving as an educator, and creating and leading statewide initiatives professionally, lasting transformation doesn't start with strategy—it starts with people.

Through deep listening and thoughtful inquiry, I help clients navigate complexity, strengthen self-awareness, and lead with confidence. Whether you're navigating a transition, seeking greater impact or feel stuck, I offer a space to think clearly, grow intentionally, and lead boldly.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does it mean to be "mission-driven"?

Mission-driven people are those who find motivation in a purpose that goes beyond personal benefit. They dedicate their efforts to achieving meaningful goals and making a positive impact. These individuals often choose work that resonates with a specific mission, focusing more on the results and significance of their efforts rather than just immediate tasks or financial rewards. Their drive comes from a desire to support a cause, enhance their community, or foster lasting positive change.

What makes transformational coaching different?

Unlike traditional coaching that focuses primarily on skills and strategies, transformational coaching addresses the underlying mindsets, beliefs, and perspectives that drive behavior. The result is deeper, more sustainable change that shifts how you see yourself as a person and a leader.

What is the Co-Active coaching approach?

Co-Active coaching is a collaborative approach focused on transforming individuals by viewing them as whole, creative, and resourceful partners in the coaching process. The Co-Active model emphasizes the individual's capability to find their own solutions, using experiential tools to empower their inner leader and evoke lasting change in all areas of life.

How long does the coaching process take?

The research on coaching confirms that clients experience meaningful shifts within 3-6 months of consistent work. We typically meet twice monthly, with each engagement customized to your specific goals and circumstances.

What can clients expect from our sessions?

Our sessions will be virtual, and each provides a confidential space for deep engagement, exploration, challenge, and growth. You'll receive thoughtful questions, honest feedback, and practical tools to implement between sessions, creating momentum toward your goals.

Must I have a clear goal before starting coaching?

No, a specific goal isn't necessary. Coaching is effective for anyone facing a transition, feeling stagnant, or simply desiring a dedicated space to process their thoughts.

What is the recommended number of sessions?

While a series of 6-10 sessions is often ideal for meaningful progress, we can create a flexible schedule tailored to your needs. Reach out to book your initial session.

What are the payment arrangements?

For my certification, I need to complete 75 paid coaching hours. The term "paid" is interpreted flexibly and doesn't strictly require a monetary transaction. We can arrange for a modest fee, a barter of services, a charitable donation, or any other value exchange that we both agree is fair.

Are our sessions confidential?

Absolutely. Our conversations are fully confidential, in adherence with the strict ICF Code of Ethics. Nothing you share will be disclosed without your direct consent.

Are you open to referrals?

Yes, referrals are highly encouraged. I am actively seeking to work with clients outside of my immediate network. Please feel free to share my website information with anyone you think might benefit:
